Eat. Sleep. Celebrate Israel. Repeat.
The theme of Tampa’s celebration of Israel’s 71st year of independence has been cast. Join the Tampa JCCs & Federation on Sunday, May 5 at the JCC on the Cohn Campus, 13009 Community Campus Drive, Tampa. Admission is free. There is something for everyone. More than 500 guests are expected to attend.
The event kicks off at noon with the presentation of colors and singing of Israel’s and USA’s national anthems. Families with young children are invited to PJ Library activities, when story time will take place, participants can take a train ride around Israel with engineers Ari & Arielle and visit craft tents. Face painting and Israel-themed photo booth promise to add to the festivities.
Tweens, teens, and adults will be able to experience the Puzzle Room. The mobile escape rooms will be open all afternoon and patrons will be able to ‘Repeat’ the quest as many times as desired.
Other special features include a SKYPE session with award-winning Israeli Author Ruby Namdar, The Ruined House, Israeli music all afternoon spun by DJ John Wendleken, and Film Festival Fan Favorite movie Golda’s Balcony. Exhibits by community organizations will be displayed.
Visit the food trucks and snack stations to purchase falafel, tabouli, hummus and other favorite treats from Israel.
JCC on the Cohn Campus is an outdoor/indoor facility. The celebration will go on rain or shine.
